SOLD Shark Vertebrae in Matrix
A nice pair of rare Otodus oblicua shark vertebra in a coquina matrix from Khouribga, Morocco. Otodus is an ancient ancestor of the modern Mackerel Shark. Note the well-preserved concentric growth rings. These are from the Eocene epoch, 50 million years ago.
Specimen measures 6 1/2” by 5” by 2”, Vertebrae are 2” diameter, Weight: 1 1/2 lb.
